Pic 149: The Pizza Dinner

Two months ago I showed an image of Relay ordering pizza. (See Pic 141) This week it finally arrives.

Pizza dinner follows pretty much the Date Ariane Remastered version of Pizza Dinner, except how it gets delivered.

The game plan is to show this image, then have a pizza fall from above and land on the table. ETA: Just finished this whole sequence, and thought this reaction shot of the pizza dropping on the table was funny, so I added it.

This is the image designed to explain how that happened. The drone opened the door and delivered the pizza directly to the table before leaving out the same door.

This image required me to add the landing outside the door and the building on the other side of the alley, and use an old drone prop first used in Ariane in Paradise, that I ported from Poser.

Poser stores their 3D assets in two formats: "Figures" and "Props". Props are easy to load in Daz Studio, and the Pizza Box is a prop I loaded in practically natively. Figures, like the drone are not easily loaded. I have to tinker in the files and find the OBJ equivalent. The extra props and two additional lights on the drone and the building in the back resulting in this image taking an hour to render.

Then the Pizza Dinner can begin. If this picture looks familiar it is because I made it look like this one.
The rest of the dinner will follow the same plan, except I don't know if I'll do the pizza sauce thing. Ariane had other outfits to change into, Relay does not.

Ariane in Paradise Update

I wanted to spend the week working on this game, but somehow I had the desire to work on the Steam version on Ariane in Paradise instead. I added better gamepad and steamdeck support to the game, and made sure a native Linux version is playable on the Steamdeck. It is!

Now that I know how to set up a Linux version, I'll make sure to get DAR and SITAR on Linux set up, too.

The new version of AiP with Gamepad menu controls is now already on Itch, see the game of the month post for details, or go straight to itch if you want to update. Because there were no bug fixes, just cosmetic changes, I did not change the version number.

The other weird part of the Steam version is because AiP is natively human translated into Spanish, I have to set up a Spanish language store front for Steam, which means doubling the assets which I am still working on.

Earliest Steam release will be mid May, or more likely June.

I also added the same gamepad and steamdeck changes to Hopepunk City, which I'll release after I voice the epilogue later this month.
