Get you back snapped just like grandpa used to. Remember you married fellas grandpa got swole off this machine cocaine coke, frothy pints, and came home to the missus with the energy to make 15+ kids.

good god..just inebriated enough to commit to buying a $55 (50 with the code!) screwdriver that I would actually use on some old shit..and it's $65 dollars to ship!?
seems... excessive, even with the fascism tariff surcharge. is there any other option?

not a wood expert but i was immediately thinking lignum vitae too. my understanding is that, in addition to being very dense & hard, it also is naturally super oily, which is why it was used for blocks in ship rigging - like bearing bronze, under pressure the oil seeps out, lubricating it. the reason this uses a different type of wood for the rest of the pulley is probably cost. you could get away with a cheaper, lower-quality wood for the parts that aren't bearing surfaces.

Maybe those parts are wood because they didn’t think anyone would use this machine for long?

Eric i was rewarching a number of your earlier narrative videos and I heard you mention Chris at ClickSpring! It was about 5 yrs ago during the 1900s Pedal Metal Lathe video. Did you two ever actuality collaborate on anything together, as you teased?! I only recently came upon his channel and much like you, I found myself fully invested and entertained by you both! That would be amazing to go back and watch. Thx...appreciate your narrative Patreon acct, I hope you continue to love what you do and keep the narrated videos coming!!!
Take care ...

You mention hitting the 100th restoration next year. Do you still own all the things you restored? Maybe you can do a video showing your collection when you reach 100!

I get real Tony Little / Jack LaLanne jealousy vibes off this antique …im guessing the Kellogg sales and factory travel staff were issued these as mandatory luggage and there was at least one train car with a dedicated space to bolt these down ...
