Hello Adventurers! This is a map with a lot of ‘shenanigan’ potential! Jail breaks, arrests for drunk and disorderly or a murder mystery with one of those boards full of red string! The map was initially intended to be much smaller, but I ended up making it larger, simply because it's more enjoyable to run encounters in larger areas. I think this would make an interesting location for a City Guard's base of operation.
The Stone Quarry will be with you by the end of the month, with the Dark Sage’s Lighthouse coming later.
Stone Quarry
I’ve created a few maps with a similar vibe, but I've never actually made a Quarry map. I enjoy researching how these places operated in the past, so this will be a fun project, and we’ll all learn a little more about how the past worked.
Dark Sage’s Lighthouse
I love lighthouses. I’ve already created a little lighthouse island, but I want to create something on a larger scale, so I’ll create a wizard tower with a lighthouse theme. It will have a few floors and a cave network under it.
I thought you’d like to see a little further ahead. These, along with a few other ideas I have, are likely to be added to the Next Maps list soon, but I do not have a set schedule for them as of yet.
Courtroom/Courthouse
Another one of those buildings your party may end up in, especially if they are bad boys and girls :) Now you’ll have a battle map to have a fun courtroom brawl in!
Pool of Life
I want to create a Fountain of Youth-style pool, perhaps in a forest glade, with a few ruins that feature water welling up, creating a natural pool.
Thank you all for your support and suggestions for new maps. I love getting ideas from you guys! Have a wonderful weekend, and as always, happy adventuring!
And now, in the local drunk tank… “OK, maybe we had a few too many drinks last night, and things got out of hand. The sheriff seems really angry, so let's get our stories straight before he gets back. Does anyone remember why we are wearing matching leotards? And why do we all have dirty limerics tattooed on our inner thighs? OK Bob, you’re right, yours is on your butt, I don’t think that's an important detail.”

Stepping onto the deck outside the building, you can see the windows are barred, the glass behind them cracked and dirty. The old red brick walls are worn with age, the pointing crumbling. The wooden double doors may have been painted at one time, but are now mostly bare wood. The door features a set of tarnished brass doorknobs. Above the doors is a large wooden sign that reads “Sheriff’s Office” painted in faded black.
Entering the office, you find yourself in a large open-plan room. Towards the front are rows of benches. A few citizens sit dejectedly on them, waiting to be seen. A couple of desks are positioned further back, occupied by disinterested-looking guards taking notes. Behind the guards is a set of interior glass windows that reveal a private office with a desk, chairs and wooden furniture. The man behind the desk gives off an aura of perpetual anger. To the left are stairs that lead up to a processing area and two large jail cells filled with several straw-covered cots. Next to the cells is a guard leaning back in his chair, reading a newspaper, occasionally spitting chewing tobacco into a spitoon at his side. It seems he only sporadically hits the mark.
30x30 Grid Map
This is a large Sheriff’s Office or Police Precinct Headquarters. It could be in a city or a smaller town.
Populate it with characters from the city watch, local guards or just a few lawmen. They don’t need to be full-time officers. They could be deputised or part-time. Try to think of the style of law enforcement you want in your city or town. Is it authoritarian? Corrupt? Idiotic? Actually good (yes, in a fantasy world, everything is possible).
Use Procedurals and Crime dramas as inspiration! There are SO many shows and episodes of this stuff, get inspired to create some fun characters.
The ‘Captain’ or Sheriff should probably be angry, tropes are fun sometimes!
This is a great place to defend if, for example, zombies attacked! Or any other monstrous invasion.
A Jail Is Meant To Be Broken - Sometimes the simplest scenarios are the most enjoyable. The party has to break someone out of Jail. They can either go through the main door or blow a hole in the jail's wall. There will always be guards stationed in the Jail, fewer at night. The more inventive the plans, the better. Do NOT penalise them for thinking out the box, train your players to be creative, you’ll all have more fun that way!
Mob Justice - Your players are hired as deputies to help protect the Office from vigilante justice. This could be an innocent person the party knows has been framed. The mob could be largely made up of ruffians hired by the real villain.
The Case of the Cultist Constabulary - The guards of this town have been infiltrated by a cult. People go missing when they are taken away by the guards, never to be seen again. Maybe it's the whole town, and travellers passing through the town disappear.
You get a roof variant for sniping those bandits as they attack! (You also get this and the standard version without the title text.)
You get Day, Night and Lit variants of all the maps.

You get a Desert/Tropical variant for those desert or tropical locations. + Day/Night and Lit.
And you also get a frozen variant for those northern or winter locations. + Day/Night and Lit.
