Hello Adventurers! It's been another busy month for me, but I’m still on track to release both maps! This one is a desolate rocky island in a tropical sea. I added a ruined tower or lighthouse, and there is a location for a cave at the base of the largest pinnacle of rock. This is a perfect location for a hidden hoard or lair of some large coastal monster.
I’m looking at getting the Heart of the Colossus finished by the end of the month, with the Country Sheriff’s Office coming next month, along with another map.
Heart of the Colossus
I’ve been thinking about this and have evolved the idea slightly. I imagine this as a massive cave with tunnels leading in and around it. The idea is that it is part of the inside of a colossal fossilised creature. The walls are somewhat organic-looking with bones and maybe veins. The central cave will have an organic and fossil-like vibe, with a large structure at its centre that resembles a heart or something similar.
Country Sheriff's Office (Local Jail/Lockup)
This would be a stone and wooden building on a main street in a village or small town. It contains a Sheriff's office along with a small lockup, jail or holding cells. The sort of place someone is held for the night when found to be drunk and disorderly or when awaiting trial at a local Courthouse.
I thought you’d like to see a little further ahead. These, along with a few other ideas I have, are likely to be added to the Next Maps list soon, but I do not have a set schedule for them as of yet.
Dark Sage’s Lighthouse
I love lighthouses. I’ve already created a little lighthouse island, but I want to create something on a larger scale, so I’ll create a wizard tower with a lighthouse theme. It will have a few floors and a cave network under it.
Stone Quarry
I’ve created a few maps with a similar vibe, but I've never actually made a Quarry map. I enjoy researching how these places operated in the past, so this will be a fun project, and we’ll all learn a little more about how the past worked.
As always, thanks for your support and feedback. I’ve been a bit overwhelmed with real-world tasks over the last few months (moving to a new country is hard), which has resulted in my upload schedule being a bit more erratic than usual. I believe that will improve soon, but as I’m sure you know, life has a way of keeping it interesting ;) So we’ll see. If you have ideas for new maps, let me know here and in private messages.
Now, grab your shovel, it's time to dig for treasure! Does everyone have their piece of the map? You know, it would be far easier if I just held all the pieces… OK OK! It was just a suggestion. Let's go swash some buckles and maybe get rich in the process.
The files, thumbnails, and tags can be accessed on the Map List Page. You must be logged in to Patreon and signed up for the correct tier to access them. Remember, you are only charged for map releases; you can download all the old maps at no extra cost!

The waves toss your tiny boat from side to side as you row towards the rocky island. Ahead is a small inlet with an even smaller sand and pebble beach, sheltered from the open ocean by high, stepped cliffs. The ocean is a crystal clear turquoise with white foam marbling its sparkling surface.
Stepping onto the beach, your feet sink into wet sand. Weathered cliffs, eroded by time, cast long shadows across the water. The island rises to a single peak, along with three pillars of rock, connected to the island by rubble and sand. To the north is a large rock with a ruined tower at its centre, connected to the island by a narrow sliver of sand.
The interior of the island is covered in coarse, sapphire-green grasses. A few windswept bushes grow beneath palm trees swaying in the breeze. The western coast is lined with thick mangroves, their roots spread wide, anchoring them in the sandy soil.
30x45 Grid Map
This island could be just off the coast of the mainland, easily reached by a small rowing boat, or it could be miles away from land, isolated and remote. Either way, make sure your descriptions emphasise its craggy nature and isolated, lonely character.
The main island is made up of rock and sand. The main island can be fairly low, barely rising above the ocean, or it could be tall pillars of rock towering over the sea below.
Use the pillars in combat by having a large flying monster land on them between straffing runs. Or have a giant sea creature drag itself up them and use its tentacles or claws to attack across the gaps.
This would make a good roost for Griffins or a Roc.
I’ve added an indication of a cave entrance under the main island's peak. Add one of my cave interiors to the encounter.
This place was abandoned for a reason, make up some legends or folklore about why. These don’t have to be linked to the actual reason.
The Roc’s Roost: A Roc has been attacking ships in the region. This is most likely the roost of the monstrous bird. Perhaps it acts like a corvid and likes to hoard shiny objects. It keeps these ‘trinkets’ in the cave below its roost.
Isle of the Tentacle: An Abolith cult takes sacrifices out to this island and leaves their victims to their god’s whims.
A Minotaur in Exile: A corrupt king uses this island to get rid of his prisoners. He has exiled a monster to the island, possibly a Minotaur or a Cyclops, and has it kill and eat his political rivals or prisoners. However, it's not the Monster killing the prisoners. Creatures from the sea attack the island each night. The exiled monster has been fighting off these creatures for years. Could it be an ally to the party?
Day/Night variants of all the maps

Desert island variant

Snow/Far North variant

Temporate variant

This also comes with a winter variant of this map

I've also created a pure desert variant, with an outcropping of rock in a desert setting.
Thanks again for the support! Happy Adventuring!
