Community Post // Aug '24 - What's Next

Hey everyone!

Hope everyone's been well. 😊 Apologies for the lack of updates for both the Simple Championship Tracker and CMPreset Generator apps. I've been a bit unwell and also needed to step away from AC for to recover from a burnout (the irony).

In addition to those two apps, I'm also starting a new project that's similar to Breathe's AC Track Listing. If you aren't aware, it's the go-to Google Sheets to find any track that's ever existed for Assetto Corsa. It's updated regularly and is very well maintained.

On the flip side, we do not really have a go-to link for Car mods. There definitely have been attempts but they often die out. Hence, I've decided to start my own Google Sheets called the AC Cars Listing that will hopefully be a good companion to Breathe's list, with less maintenance to keep it sustainable.

Here are some Work-in-Progress (WIP) previews:

It's still early days but I'll eventually publish a public Google Sheets link. My wish is for it to circulate and be the defacto list, gathering the pearls from the isolated seas of Discord / Patreon / Overtake.gg mods. 😂 But I will try to enlist the community's help to inform me when new cars / updates are available or if there are dead links, though I cannot promise I'll have a backup of every mod.

With regards to AC-SCT and CMPG, I'll have to refocus my efforts to develop them. AC-SCT still needs the Team / Manufacturer / Division standings. I've made progress with the initial auto-sorting. There's also some fixes I've implemented to improve the ELO rating calculation, centralized the table contents further, fixed a compatibility issue with using Pure planner and fixed the Charts from going all cross-wired when there's a new driver in the championship.

CMPG needs a new Flet feature that's apparently coded but not yet available. I wanna add a feature that can pull from any Wikipedia page that contains the results of a racing season. And I mean any. ANY category. I've already programmed the scraping and some processing - all that's left is a full-fledged CMPreset Editor. It can then import drivers in with automated AI levels based on their average finish. 🤓 Then the player just has to assign the car / skin to the driver. It might change how people set up a replica race in AC, no longer preparing a preset from scratch.
