"Size Difference World" Game Development Story

Hi!

I'm continuing my... devlog?..

I guess the term “devlog” doesn't really fit a series of posts about my games after all. Although, the term “development log” is rather vague. Still, my understanding (I could be wrong) is that a “log” - is something technical, having an official form. I, on the other hand, create my texts in a more free form. My texts are not just a dry listing of what has been done and what is to be done... I don't even know what to call it... A conversation?

Let this series of posts be called “development story”. I think it will be better that way...

Maybe sometime in the future, I can combine these separate posts into my memoirs... If, of course, that future comes. For now, unfortunately, my future is not very optimistic, no matter how hard I try to get my affairs straightened out. Life is constantly putting me through hardships, and I have to endure them for the sake of my children.

But I don't want to talk about sad things right now, despite the many pessimistic thoughts overpowering me. This series of posts is about games. If anyone is interested in my life situation - please read all the previous posts about game development. I've talked about my life on many occasions, especially in the earlier posts. Unfortunately, so far, nothing has changed for the better...

Of course, you are free not to believe me. I know a lot of people think I'm just trying to pad myself by making up sad stories...

I can't prove anything. Faith is a voluntary and individual thing. I don't force anyone to do anything...

Here I go again with the sad things, sorry... Let's get directly back to the topic of the posts - game development... Slowly but surely, the development is progressing!

I continue, to the best of my ability, to transfer the dialog of the protagonist and his newfound girlfriends into the game... So far, it's just dialog, with no cutscene images. Through trial and error, I've realized that this is the most productive way to develop. I write a large amount of dialog, replacing images with text stubs. I work this way for a few weekends in a row, after which I move on to creating the missing images... Then I go back to dialogs.

I've written about this before, and many of my follower's know about it. However, I know that a great many people don't read all the previous posts, so I, periodically, repeat myself.

It is a pity that neither I, nor my friend and assistant with the nickname Sam Smith, can skillfully use graphical neural networks, in which we can quickly generate the necessary images in the same style. And such images, which, in the long run, can be used for commercial purposes. Neural networks would greatly facilitate development and speed up its process. Unfortunately, to become a master in any activity, we need to learn a lot and practice a lot, which we, unfortunately, cannot afford. We, once upon a time, tried to use neural networks, but we failed at it. Now we create all the images manually, using the graphics tablet and Photoshop. Many thanks to Sam Smith for his invaluable help.

We have created one image after all. However, as before, this image belongs to the secondary scene in the bathhouse.

The image has already been added to the working build, and to the special section in the private gallery (Size Difference World The Game / 2025 / 05 / May 18).

Read the pinned post for patrons at the very top of the feed to find a link to download the working build.

Who is interested in the progress of game development, please keep an eye on the posts.
