Update 9th Nov '25
Added 2025-11-09 14:12:58 +0000 UTCIn the midst of various book promotion posts and regular HoHH art previews, I thought I'd use the sunday slot to drop a proper update post, so people know what I'm up to.
This week was more of maintenance week. I finally got over my dislike of Kindle Create to put a print manuscript together, submitted it, and even ordered a proof copy to check it came out okay. (Which turned up really quickly - fair play to Amazon, they're very good at that side of things). This means A Succubus for Social Justice will have a simultaneous ebook and print book release on Nov 14th. I'm pleased about this, as putting print books out, even though they're pricy, fell on the wayside somewhat after I re-released all my other books after eXcessica closed down.
I will be looking to give those older books print versions. Currently I'm planning to commission new covers, and when they come in, put out a new print version of each book until I've caught up.
The Succubus Summoning books are in a weird state. I'm fine with the covers as they are, so in theory a print version of them should be made available ASAP. Unfortunately, there are some problems. I can't find the original files the covers were made from. I have the completed art, but I need the original layers so I can remove the old publisher logo and redo the blurb text on the back. I don't think I have this, so I might need to get those redone (although probably in a very similar style).
The other issue is with the internal content. For the original version of the SS101 books, I tried to 'pretty' up the insides by adding little succubus silhouettes to indicate chapter headings and ends. Kindle Create does not like those images and Amazon rejected the manuscript when I tried to preview it. I still want the print book to have them, but I'll need to do more experimentation to figure out how to make that work. Kindle Create is a fairly hostile program to use if you want to deviate from the basic templates.
I am hoping to get both of these problems solved soon, as I'd like to make everything have print versions again.
As for other work, I had to spend a day or so getting the details and references together for the next art commission to marwmellow. This is primarily for the new cover for A Succubus for Christmas. It also includes a few more H-scenes for HoHH harlots.
Basically, I've been so slow writing the HoHH elite harlots, pretty much all the pinups are done now. While it's stretching my art budget a little, I'm going to start sneaking in a few H-scenes. Maybe the project will start to end up closer to original Monmusu Quest after all (which had a battle sprite for each monster girl + 1 or more H-scenes for her Bad End).
In this case, it doesn't feel like feature creep aside from stretching my art budget a little (which I think I can handle thanks to those of you subscribing at the $5 and higher tiers). Marwmellow has pretty much caught up on the regular harlot pinups, so I need to write faster! :D
The other maintenance task I busied myself with is the notebook section for HoHH. I'm a little worried this might have been an extra feature too far. Currently I'm writing all the notebook sections for the low-tier harlots. Doing them one-by-one wasn't going anywhere, so I think I need to devote a couple of weeks to it and get all of the low-tier harlots done. That should, hopefully, template the process enough so I can carry on with the higher tier harlots without having to focus on it fully. This will be my main task for next week.
Thanks for the support and interest!
