AI Art, Creativity, and Respect in the Digital Space
Added 2025-03-31 10:35:36 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
I want to take a moment to address some of the recent criticism about AI-generated art / video and how it fits into what I create.
For over 20 years, I’ve consistently delivered 3D comics every Friday—without fail. That dedication hasn’t changed. What has changed is the tools available to artists. AI-generated imagery and animation are part of the evolving digital landscape, just like Photoshop, 3D modeling software, and countless other innovations that have shaped the art world over the decades.
Some have expressed disappointment that I’m incorporating AI into my work, claiming that it diminishes the "handmade" aspect of my comics. I want to be clear: AI is not a replacement for creativity; it’s a tool—one that I use to add extra content for everyone to enjoy. My core work remains what it has always been: storytelling, composition, and 3D artistry. AI simply allows me to experiment and push creative boundaries further.
Now, I respect that some people have strong opinions about AI in art and video. That’s fine. What I don’t appreciate is rude, hateful comments. I’m here supplying something creative—something different—to make people enjoy a little extra content each week. What I don’t need is to be bullied or shouted at by people who sit behind a monitor and act like something they’re not. I have feelings like anyone else, and I’m not here to be a punching bag for those who think that tearing others down somehow makes them better.
The hostility toward AI in the art world isn’t new, and I understand that some people prefer traditional methods. That’s completely fine. But dismissing AI outright ignores the reality that artistic mediums evolve. The same kind of backlash happened when digital art first emerged (I was there and got attacked by 2D artists), when 3D modelling became widespread, and even when photography was first introduced. Innovation doesn’t destroy art—it expands it.
To those who no longer want to support my work because I use AI in some aspects: I respect your choice. But I’ll keep doing what I’ve always done—delivering stories, maintaining my schedule, and finding new ways to entertain.
To everyone who continues to support creativity in all its forms—thank you. The future of digital art isn’t about rejecting tools—it’s about using them in meaningful, unique ways.
