House of Hellish Harlots v0.047 [Eve Satana]

We're also back to the regular plain text version. The official releases will stay like this for the next few months. I've been testing some graphics options in experimental releases, but it will be a while before I can start to add them to the main branch.
I'm a little nervous about this release as it did require some changes to the core to fit Eve in, as her scenario is a little different to the others. I did test everything I thought might be impacted, but there's always a fear I might have missed something. If the game does blow up somewhere in embarrassing fashion, let me know so I can fix it.
This release adds one new harlot and some code changes to accommodate her.
Eve Satana
Mistress Eve Satana is a visiting succubus. She doesn't have a room at the House. Anyone that picks her will be taking part in a very special show in the downstairs bar. She quite possibly has "the biggest tits in the world". They're more than a handful, so be wary of being pulled in too deep by their gargantuan appeal...
Eve Satana is one of the 'short story' succubi. As with the others in the House (Epicratea and Acarina), her scenario is adapted from her scene in the original story, so some aspects will be familiar.
She did finish quite high in the original poll for characters to add. It's just been a while to add her because of her scenario requiring some core changes (the player needing to stay in the bar rather than go up to her room).
Working out the mechanics of her scenario was fun. There's a nice little puzzle for the players to figure out.
She's from Hamburg, so I've added in some German phrases. This is from machine translation, so if there are some German speakers out there (Noeru), please let me know if it sounds natural and not mangled.

The scenario is intended as more of cryptic puzzle than a stat check. The Elegant Woman will tell the player what to do, but is "two lies and one truth" on the key phrase. She drops a very cryptic hint that it's related to tarot and Fool, Devil, and Hanged Man are tarot cards. Her saying "I might have it backwards", is an even subtler hint the player should look for the Card, Reversed. If someone looks that up, it should reveal the correct role to take. It is extremely cryptic, but as there's only 3 options, the player can probably solve it through brute force, or have the charm that indicates when the Elegant Woman is lying. It should be a lot scarier in the finished game when the player runs across her in round 8 and is trying to figure all that out. :D Random events is something I want to add. They were originally planned to fire in the postroom segment where the player only really has the Portly Gentleman and Elegant Woman to interact with. I had an idea for another stage show succubus that traps a patron in a giant bubble and fills it with pink fumes that causes him to ejaculate uncontrollably. When the fumes clear the patron is gone. Anyone watching assumes it's just another magic trick, not realising the succubus has consumed the patron completely. The player would see that in an early round, then get the opportunity to select her in a later round.

2023-07-01 14:31:16 +0000 UTCAh, I see. That makes sense then. "Ah, ein Geizhals," and "Er wird auf der Bühne bezahlen," are also correct. So far I have been an un/lucky soul with Eve. When it comes to "Ishubaniamer dirolla des narr", once you know what it is supposed to mean it makes sense. But even for a German speaker its quite difficult to see at first hand. But I guess that is what happenes when you deal with demons. Other than that it was a good story. Having Eve in the bar area could also open up other scenarios. Because so far the danger of the house is not really that apparent to the player character until he himself is truly in danger. Would be fun to have random events happen in the bar where sometimes someone else is consumed by Eve Satana, for example. This could show the player character that all the women there are not talking nonsense or cosplaying, but are in fact actual demons. Could also open up funny one-liners like your 'date' saying 'Well, that was entertaining. I might do the same to you if you enter my room.'

Some of it is supposed to be deliberately corrupted to represent both a demon dialect and the main character not understanding German, especially for the contract parts they need to recite. For them I took the google translate output and tried to respell the words phonetically. "I take the role of the fool" "Ich übernehme die Rolle des Narren" then corrupted to "Ishubaniamer dirolla des narr" The player getting "role of the fool/devil/hangman" out of it but being uncertain of the first part was the aim. Ideally the first word, if said aloud, should be close to "Ich ubernehme". If not, I'll need to tweak a few syllables. I tried to do the same with Karnevilzgesetzer. It's meant to allude to "laws of the show" (or carnival), but corrupted. I also couldn't resist changing 'eval' to 'evil' even though the spelling is wrong. :D I think those are the only times where it's supposed to be "daemon German" rather than regular German. The times when Eve Satana or the Announcer speak should be correct German (hopefully!). If the player has no money in the bar there are a couple of lines where the Announcer calls the player a cheapskate or something similar and Eve says he'll pay for it on stage. "Ah, ein geizhals," the woman in the purple crushed-velvet says. "Er wird auf der bühne bezahlen," Eve Satana says. Both chuckle darkly to each other as they get up and leave. Those are lines I hope are accurate and make sense.

During the dialogue with The Elegant Woman, she mentions 'Karnevilzgesetzer' which I am going to assume is supposed to mean something like 'the laws of the carnival'? If thats the case, the correct spelling would be 'Karnevalgesetze'. You could also say 'Gesetze des Karneval'. When it comes to 'Ishubaniamer dirolla des gehancktermann'... As a German, I dont really know what that is supposed to mean :D Maybe tell me what it is suppoed to be translated to in English and I can tell you the correct German translation for it. Also 'Ishubaniamer dirolla des narr' is kinda the same. I think what you are trying to say is something like '... the role of the hangman' and '... the role of the fool' and ''... the role of the devil', but I dont know what 'Ishubaniamer' is supposed to mean. I havent looked at her actual scene yet. Guess I will do that later on. I can update this post with stuff that I find.

I think it was great to see Eva do her first Sex show on the stage and I like how you snuck in a reference to an old school FPS horror game in their clan name. Does Carn Evil ring a bell? I feel bad for the succubi waitress/assistants. Especially the one watching you shower after surviving Eva. How are they paid? Do they get any men? Are we ever going to get a harlot scenario with them? Group sex with the succubi waitresses sounds good.
