Update 11th Jun '23

Update is a little late today as I was travelling back home.

The reason for that was a little complicated.  I failed to pick up tickets for a music festival before it sold out, but neglected to tell my mate that before he got around to booking the hotel rooms.  A slight breakdown in communication later and I suddenly found myself with a 3-night stay elsewhere.

I thought I'd try that writer thing of going off to stay in a hotel somewhere just to write.  What I learned from this is I'm too slow of a writer to do the go-off-for-a-week, write-a-novel thing, but I was able to write several thousand words and get something moving that previously seemed stuck.  This is the centrepiece story for the 7th collection, so I'm hoping I can keep the momentum up over the next week and get a good chunk of it done.

Before I went off on the surprise trip to elsewhere in the country, I did some more maintenance work on HoHH.

The bug with Eve Satana was a bug with testing.  It shouldn't affect the release version and if there's something wrong with ailments, it's something else.  Her release is prepped and ready.

The soft and squish slime girl pair scenario is mostly typed up.  A session or two and I think they'll be finished and ready for implementation.

On the back of the graphics and GUI experimentation I'm been doing some refactoring of the HoHH codebase on a different branch.  It's reasonably well-organised as is, but there is still some code duplication and some further refinements to make before I start playing around with HTML tags and CSS to add better graphics.  This is involves breaking it down further into more discrete modules.  While a large-scale refactoring like this would normally be terrifying, I'm doing it on a separate copy, so if something does go badly wrong, I won't have broken the main branch.  Eve Satana, Brittnee and the Squishy Slime Pair will probably go out on the existing codebase, and then I'll look to switch over if everything is fine with new branch after that.

That's the plan. The demos are mainly to get an idea of the layout, type of image, size of images, etc. I also want to push the demo further to check if the core game loop is 'fun'. That's probably less of an issue for monster girl pics as they can always be switched over to another project.

I like the idea of the HoHH graphics demo, but to be honest, I don't think the level of quality, when it comes to the images, matches your stories. Basically, the text is a 9/10 or 10/10, but the images are a 6/10 at most. For a test version, it is fine, but once you get to version 1.0, I feel like you probably have to hire an actual artist for it. Obviously, this will cost a lot of money. So maybe one way raising the money would be to create a new sub tier? 5€ for example.
