2025-01-03 01:51:11 +0000 UTCA lot of people stopped One Piece here, but it wasn't just because of the pacing. It was because the villains weren't on the same level as previous villains. You have this dynamic were Luffy is feeling stronger then the villains, and should be able to beat them up. It isn't like an Akainu, were you know Luffy is outmatched. I think Oda, was giving us some more nuanced villains this arc. One's that represented an ideologies that you can encounter in your daily lives. However Oda did such a good job that people were so disgusted with both Decken and Hody, that they just wanted them to be off their screens. I caught up at this point, and I remember people that also watched the show just giving up on it because Luffy didn't kick Hody and Decken's ass yet. Remember people didn't have the luxury to keep going after they finished an episode, so for them the whole arc was just padding, and they didn't understand the message the arc was trying to teach.

Also it gives you a bit more information about the one piece world like all the other movies do. Those episodes blend seamlessly into the season as well so you wonβt be confused or have to jump around. I will give more info the closer we get to those episode on how you can go about watching it since I know movies are only for holiday drops β₯οΈ
