Week 2! It certainly felt a bit slower than the first week. But, I've been fighting off a cold, trying to update my socials. (I'm closing my twitter in two weeks). And in general- making sure this is all going smoothly.
But, I am pretty happy with the final results!
That lineart digital study came out really well. I'm super happy with it. Some of my friends compared it to a Junji Ito background, which is like- the highest honour to me.
And the painting, this time I tried to just go ham with as many colours as possible- and draw a bit more from imagination. Ultimately, I didn't accomplish what I set "out" to do. (I think I was too restrained with the proportions), but I learned a lot about colour mixing and opacity.
I've got so many ideas- many of which I'm not sure if I'm actually capable of. But that's part of the exciting thing about this grant opportunity. I don't know if I can do it. But, I'm going to try!
(Also, I do take photos of my work in progress- You can see them on the discord- but I feel like I should ask here. Should I include the "works in progress" steps in these portfolio expansion posts? Would y'all like that?)
