Well, being a transwoman, as opposed to a gay man, and knowing your art, your heart and your style, I would have just read it as Alex and Junpei being good sports and doing what they can to contribute to the party atmosphere. As someone who speaks in public on occasion, I also have a deep appreciation of how optics of the uninformed and ignorant can determine the tone of the dialogue had, and can take what was brought to be good and beautiful and turn it into a dumpster fire. As with all of your design decisions, I always find myself taken by the direction you choose and look forward to what is around the next corner.
