calling a gabaergic substance a nootropic is so funny.

it'd be interesting if you could cover racetams theres a whole host of them (aniracetam, oxiracetam, nefiracetam, fasoracetam i could go on and on) , piracetam and phenylpiracetam also hailing from soviet russian research. I believe they legal in most parts of the world.

one of my friends gave me a decent sized jar of phenibut, i tried it once and had a horrid experience, so the jar has been sitting in my drawer for like 5 years

The best way to take it for euphoric effects in my experience is to enjoy nature while on it. My favorite is the San Diego Zoo or Safari Park on nice sunny day. It is almost like MDMA in the sense that I'm just so happy to be alive, the world is beautiful, music is great, and the sex...just gotta get the dosing right. My old stuff would be perfect at 500 - 750mg, everything I've bought in the last couple years needs to be at around 2.2 - 3 grams for any affect. Should also only be taken once or twice a month. And also great a few hours before dropping anything else, takes the comeup anxiety of everything right out.

Phenibut is my favorite drug. I rarely use it, but it's great occasionally for days that involve a lot of activity and social interaction. Not only does it kill my social anxiety, and give me a productive fun day where I can function the way I want to, and feel really good, but also each experience with it helps me learn how to deal with social interaction, and makes me more confident in the future when I'm socializing while sober.

I thought I would give a a pharmacology explanation because I find pharmacology fascinating. There are 3 receptors that "GABAergic drugs" effect. Gaba-A, Gaba-B, and α2δ (voltage-dependent calcium channels that contain the subunits α2δ). GABA-A This is the famous one. Most of the popular GABAergic drugs effect this receptor. These include Alcohol, Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Z-Drugs like Ambien, Methaqualone (Quaaludes), the muscimol in Amanita Muscaria, Carisoprodol (Soma), and several anesthetics (Propofol, Etomidate). I believe drugs that effect these receptors are the only ones (out of the 3 receptors I mentioned) that have a potentially lethal withdrawal. GABA-B Some of the drugs that effect this receptor have abuse potential however I believe this is due to interaction with other receptors. There is some abuse potential associated with GABA-B agonists however it is much lower than GABA-A. These drugs include baclofen a common muscle relaxant, Phenibut, and GHB although many of the effects associated with GHB are due to its effects at the GHB receptor not the GABA-B. α2δ I believe a sedative effect is achieved because these meds prevent this calcium channel from opening which prevents excitation. These class of drugs do have abuse potential but it is probably less than drugs that effect GABA-A. Gabapentin and Pregabalin (Lyrica) both effect this receptor primarily. These drugs are called gabapentinoids and while they are derived from GABA their effects at GABA-A or B are negligible. Phenibut also effects this receptor. How does phenibut work The following numbers reflect how much of a substance needs to be present (in μM) to effect 50% of the receptors in the body. (this data does come from rat brains) The main thing to know is the LOWER the number the stronger the effect at this receptor. Phenibut α2δ around 30, GABA-B 177. GABA-A very high. Showing it is probably most similar to gabapentin and lyrica, with a little bit of baclofen, and almost no GABA-A effects. 4-F-Phenibut was listed as GABA-B 1.7 (different measurement that Phenibut shows 9.6 for GABA-B) so 4-F is clearly stronger but I could not find any info about its effects at α2δ

Hi, I bought your Patreon exclusively for this video because phenibut is actually one of my favorite "nootropics". I'm a pretty experienced user so I wanted to comment on some points. I seemed to derive a lot of enjoyment out of phenibut, the way I'd describe the experience is a guaranteed best day ever where all I want to do is socialize and listen to music. It seems people get different amounts of recreational use out of it. The main problem with phenibut is that after using it for an extended period of time, your body becomes sensitized to it and will produce strong rebounds about 48-72 hours after your dose. These continue to get worse and usually never improve even with an extended break. It's basically kindling just like alcohol. Additionally, using it twice in a row becomes extremely taxing. Nowadays I use phenibut basically like a benzodiazepine, for situations that are extremely anxiety inducing but that I can't get out of. Things like jury duty, travelling, etc. The dosage can be scaled down if you only need moderate anxiety relief, and that also reduces the severity of the rebounds.

that track came together like magic! cool shit. your friends and family in every vid seem really great, love seeing yall hang out and have fun together.

F-Phenibut is actually a different drug haha like baclofen has an added chlorine F-Phenibut has a fluorine. Which makes it's effects on gaba and the voltage calcium channels slightly different. Also gabapentin isn't a gabaergic, it's a voltage calcium gate modulator, like regular phenibut but phenibut also effects GABAB

That’s a whole lotta shit pal

I really loved the part where you talked about wanting to feel the sadness and the hurt, because it's the only way to come out the other side of it. I spent a lot of my younger years suppressing my feelings and trauma, and that only works for a finite amount of time (and it doesn't even work that well tbh). I genuinely had to go through a dark period and learn how to feel my feelings to actually heal. I really appreciate how candid you are, it takes a lot of courage dude, and it's a message that I think a lot of people need to hear. The drug stuff is fun too lol.

Love this! My favorite nootropic cocktail is ginko biloba, bacopa, l-theanine, and yohimbe, caffeine, weed, shrooms, blue lotus, kanna, klip dagga, damiana... Gets me feeling like 23:30

I can 100% vouch for the fact that going to alcohol withdrawal SUCKS hard. Had to go through a detox 22 years ago and that was my wakeup.
