Year 268 post-Blackout
M: Come to think of it, we’re close to celebrating 300 years since Blackout.
S: Oh my, what happened during Blackout?
M: I don’t know, the witnesses of its witnesses have fossilized.
S: And on this positive note, welcome back to our podcast, Thoughts On. And today we’re dishing out hot takes on…
M: Mutants. Are they abominations? Why did people begin to mutate? Some tricky questions for today’s episode. I can’t help but wonder… We’re so different, how can we coexist?
S: What do you mean?
M: You know how hardship is the driving force of evolution, right?
S: Right.
M: Unlike puny humans, mutants clearly feel at home in this world. We breathe its toxic fumes and let them course through our veins. We’re stronger and quicker to adapt to this hellhole that wants nothing more than to buldoze every living thing.
S: You make chugging mutagens and prancing around the wasteland in a loincloth sound poetic. And just like that we’ve established that mutants are abominations. Thanks for watching, roll credits.
M: You can delude yourself all you want, but it’s just facts. In all these thousands of years you failed to grow a couple more arms for convenience’s sake. You’re like a worm chasing a train in terms of evolution. How do you even survive?
S: Don’t know about my great-great-great-great-grandparents, but I survive by being on the winning side. Tectonic Titans. We stick together and our guys kick ass in 4 out of 5 games. That’s Class A for you.
M: Credit where credit’s due. Luckily, they’re not thinning out our gang this season, so I can root for them. Still, aren’t you His Eminence’s nepo babies with that kind of equipment?
S: Watch mutants make their armour out of rags and rusty road signs and claim that everyone around them has an unfair advantage. Boo-hoo, everyone voted for Ravenclaws, who would've thought.
M: Now that's a low blow. Don't listen to her, we're going strong this season. Ah, when games are on, the conversation always veers back to them.
