A New Approach to Character Modeling

Some of you may already know that my biggest hurdle when it comes to creating models is having to deal with multiple different versions. If I want to update something or add some new features then I have to repeat that exact work onto the other versions of the model which is a really inefficient way of working. I'm effectively doing triple the work (in the case of just 3 model versions) and two thirds of that work is duplicate.

So I really wanted to figure out a way to minimize all that duplicate work and I believe I've found a rather nice solution. One that would actually remove the need to download a SFW or a Female or a Male version, etc. But instead, the user can simply just cycle to the genitalia they prefer!

Keep in mind that all of this is still very experimental for me right now. There were a ton of challenges that took me a while to figure out. Like, how do I actually set up the model such that I can just take a patch and have multiple variants of that patch? Also how would I ensure that the textures flow across the patches consistently? How do I actually set it up that the patches can be toggled between?

This new approach opens up a ton of possibility for differing genitalia types. I do have some beta versions of the Interceptor that sport a cloaca. But updating all of those models to have good rigging and consistent textures would have been a nightmare. Now I only need to worry about a single blend file as opposed to 3 or 4!

I'll continue to play around and experiment with this new workflow. If everything goes smoothly then you can expect my future models to all have this sort of functionality!

Oh, I've seen it, and it looks great. Of course, a meticulously crafted piece of art is worth the wait. I'm glad to hear that you haven't forgotten about Miraroo and are willing to further enhance its image. Ha-ha, whenever you complete it, I'll be eagerly looking forward to your work. Please don't feel pressured about it, and thank you.

She does have a successor, Kamiroo. But the model is unfinished and there's no clear time-line for when I plan to finish her

Well, although it's unfortunate, but I strongly hope you can revive your love for Miraroo and create a completely new version of it, allowing this magnificent creature to make an appearance in future episodes. Honestly, it's truly remarkable. I came across it on e621 and furaffinity before coming to your Patron, and I believe I'm not the only one who has become your fan because of Miraroo :D.

I never finished this model so I don't have a rigged version of it. It's really not that great if I'm being honest

Excuse me, perhaps this is outdated, but I really like your Narwhal model named Miraroo. Where can I get it?maybe the Mega supporter?please, I really like it,and this model might be from five years ago.

Super excited!! Your models have recently gotten me into blender animation. Since your models are so well crafted the process has been really enjoyable so far! Huge thanks!
