Today I am pleased to be sharing a few more new hi-res images from The Faerie Queene, including the cover of Book Four!

The cover features an undersea procession scene featuring an array of sea gods, (Triton, Neptune, and co.) I always love working with undersea scenes so I have been looking forward to working on this one for quite some time. The scene offered a lot of wonderful challenges and opportunities to play with light and murky rendering effects.

The architecture was a challenge, as it offers the sole bit of rigid geometry to wrestle with against the mass of loose organic shapes. I had a lot of fun punching crisp glittering highlights out from smoky colors and hazy brushwork with this one.

Also to share, I have 3 hi-res drawings: A classic shot of the 3 muses:

A lady in a chariot pulled by lions (because why would you not want your chariot drawn by giant cats?):

...And the Savage Knight, who arms himself only in leaves and brambles found in a random hedge he happened to walk through on his way here. Not like those other teary-eyed, limp-wristed, pansy knights, who need to go around safely encased in actual metal armor.

I hope you've enjoyed these! More to come soon as we dive into book 5!
