"Phineus the Owl Wizard" The Unlikely Heroes Vignette #1

Welcome to the first post in our Unlikely Heroes vignette series for the Monster of the Month!

Squeaking out the narrowest of victories, Phineus the owl wizard came in at number one. So for October our first vignette drawing shows our wizard quietly working in his library tower refuge as he occasionally scratches notes and new details about some of the monsters he has encountered since this all began.

Next month is our second place hero "Montague" tucked away in his refuge in the cellars. To see the full list of heroes we will be doing, check out the Unlikely Heroes poll here.

BONUS DESIGN: I originally made a character design for the Owl Wizard early on (shown below), but I decided to change some of the features in the final vignette scene. I prefer the design in the vignette version and that will be the official design for this character moving forward. which I like a little more. So the hero shot below is not "canon" design, but I thought I'd share it anyway so you get to see some of the scrapped and reworked designs.
