Work on The Last of Us comic continues! I spent today thinking about my King's Quest IV comic and how it'll likely turn out to be one of my most fleshed out tales. Having grown up with the games, I would have to say King's Quest VI was my favorite. I must've played it at least a dozen times. 😅
In KQVI, you play as Rosella's brother Alexander in his quest to win his love Cassima in the Land of the Green Isles (an Arabian Nights sorta setting).
What I especially liked about KQVI was how well-scripted it was. There were so many ways to progress and so many endings, including some really crushingly bad endings. 😄
One especially bad ending was Alexander sneaking into Cassima's palace dressed as a servant girl and then being captured by the guards. You are then thrown into the dungeons only to suffer hearing the wedding music signaling Cassima being wed to the evil vizier Alhazred. 😲
To me, the idea of Alexander just draping women's clothes over his own clothes is a ridiculous disguise. My take is that he drinks the "Drink Me" potion that turns him into a woman and then sneaks in disguised.
He'd then be captured and Cassima would be wed to Alhazred - thus failing miserably in his quest! Without any means to escape or turn himself back into a man, Alhazred offers up "Alexandra" to the Beast of the isle that bears his name. 😜
I went down this rabbit hole and came up with a few test shots you see in the slideshow. I'm really looking forward to concluding Rosella's tale in one or two more chapters, and then moving onto this concept in a future project!
Anyways, I'll see you guys in a few days with another sneak peek of The Last of Us comic. I'm planning to release it on 31 October!

She isn't trying to appear composed to regal. She's just shaken from her recent marriage to the evil vizier, AND finding her love turned into a woman! 😜

First off you managed to make the peasant arabian clothing look soo great (the hijab is gorgeous) and the idea of turning into a woman only to fail and sealing her fate in similar way as her lover is so well found (also i absolutely LOVE cassima's regal expression when she went to the dungeons it like she is already a queen)
