Added 2024-02-28 01:54:37 +0000 UTCAnother peek into my digital sketchbook, and Juno steals the show in this one. Mix that with some vibrant color studies and I had the beginnings of "New Light", a piece I enjoyed the hell out of creating. It was an outlet for me at a time when I was drawn to use color more ambitiously and perhaps less naturalistically. Color studies and thumbnails would show up more often from here on out in my sketch pages, and it's a good thing too. Every piece I've done a little miniature color composition study for has turned out way better than figuring it out as I go. Even so, I have MANY lessons left to learn where color comp is concerned :P

Very cool! It's great seeing what came before the work you posted. What other concepts were out there. What you had in mind. The tests and all. Very cool to get a peek behind the process.

I've come down with two bugs since the new year myself -- not exactly loving that :P It's really good to hear my scribbles can offer you something positive during the rough times. I've already got a huge backlog of sketches, so posting them will be easy!

The recent posts certainly give me some warmth, I've been sick pretty much since mid-December with back to back flus and now possibly Covid. Too exhausted to do anything but seeing your stuff always brings a smile and inspiration!
