Another peek into my digital sketchbook, and Juno steals the show in this one. Mix that with some vibrant color studies and I had the beginnings of "New Light", a piece I enjoyed the hell out of creating. It was an outlet for me at a time when I was drawn to use color more ambitiously and perhaps less naturalistically. Color studies and thumbnails would show up more often from here on out in my sketch pages, and it's a good thing too. Every piece I've done a little miniature color composition study for has turned out way better than figuring it out as I go. Even so, I have MANY lessons left to learn where color comp is concerned :P
