Preview of the Battle Map sequence

I personally found the battle at the end of Act VIII a little anti-climactic (big video, then nothing). So I decided to go back and create a little sub-game for strategic level combat; it's something I'll be needing for various other sequences in Book 2 and Book 3 *anyway*, so it's probably time  well spent.

The basic idea is that our various forces are represented by little tokens; I thought briefly about having them be 3D renders, but the tokens are a lot easier to identify and create. Each  token can represent one or more 'character'; for example in this setup (representing an Alpha version of Act VIII's combat), MC's accompanies by Emily, Bella and Molly, and each of them adds an active or passive power to the token.

In the case of MC, he has an active power (long range ice-strike), Emily has an active power (activate shield), Bella has a passive power (automatically strike out once/second against the nearest enemy), and Molly has a passive power (automatically enhance the damage output of any allies in range).

It's got a lot of polish and balancing to go before I slot it into Act VIII's ending where it belongs, but hopefully you now have some ideas of how I intend to do it.
