yall are smoking crack. Regardless of how much time there was to animate this fight, it brings raw intensity to the whole thing. That's all it is. It's to show how raw the emotions are. You guys are so branwashed by today's animation budget standards like fate unlimited budget works or demon slayer finales. The Pain vs 9 tail animation perfectly represents everything the backstory, plot, and Konoha invasion build up.

The biggest issue is that this episode had SO MUCH action going on and not enough time to animate it to it's fullest. Don't get me wrong, this has occurred many times throughout the series. One example is Naruto Vs Orchimaru on the bridge. You literally get a scene played in forward, cut away, played again in forward, then played in reverse, taking up almost 2.5 min from a poorly animated 30 second scene and this is just one of many I could use. Not counting tree jumping traveling cause I get it. Regardless, from here on out the animation doesn't disappoint. I personally feel like this episode was an eye opener for many Companies who learned not to sacrifice quality for production time. Some later episodes of Naruto will have entire fights or episodes sub contracted out to specialized companies to bring out the fullest potential of animation. You will know when you see them. In recent years, Contracting out fight scenes or even putting a hault on a series to give more time for VA and animation has become more common. While some might whine and cry when there favorite show gets delayed, I'm happy they're giving extra time to provide quality entertainment.

2023-07-05 02:40:07 +0000 UTCWhile the animation left a lot to be desired at certain points, i remember absolutely loving this episode when i watched. most importantly because we got to see planetary devastation (more on that later) AND minato meeting naruto. like we've been waiting for naruto to interact with his parents for hundreds of episodes at this point including part 1.

2023-06-21 06:23:08 +0000 UTCalso while the animation was bad in certain points, the fundamentals re: speed (as you said) are unironically the same basis for how speed is depicted today. i mean, compare it to black clover or the recent one piece episodes or any other well animated action sequence portraying high speed - its foundation is the same. but since this was done so early, it was rudimentary in many aspects. but the skeleton remains
