Those 3 episodes still contained some manga canon stuff and some of the next episodes also will but they changed many things so that they could continue the story how they intended to. So some of these things you'll still see in Brotherhood but different and in a few episodes it will be 100% Anime original. Those were definitely some interesting build up episodes! And no you shouldn't recognize the person at the end :D
