Sunbeam

One day, the sun rose up…strange. It looked no different than any other dawn, a dark night sky turning lighter and lighter blue as the Earth spun on it’s axis and the enormous ball of burning gas grew closer and closer to the horizon. Few knew that the coming day would bring chaos and confusion, terror and joy and ultimately a new life for everyone on the planet Earth. The first signs that something was wrong came from the many ocean-faring vessels plying the Atlantic, as bored transmissions from gruff sounding men suddenly became higher pitched and feminine, and full of panic.

The eastern seaboard of the United States was the first to get hit by the otherwise normal beams of light; every person the sun touched spontaneously changed gender. Men became women, women became men as their bodies shifted and changed along with their clothing. Even animals, innocent and unaware of the unfolding transformations, were changed in the span of an instant. It was chaos on a widespread scale as policemen, now women, struggled to cope with their own changes as they struggled to maintain order. But for Jesse, he slumbered on in his bed, ultimately and perhaps blissfully unaware of what was about to happen to him. The ray of light slithered through the crack in his bedroom curtains, sliding silently like a electromagnetic serpent across the carpet, and then up along the side of the young man’s bed before cresting the top of the mattress. Jesse had chosen, poorly, to sleep on top of his sheets to stay cool in the closing days of summer, and his slightly tousled night-shirt was parted just enough for whatever was happening to do it’s work. It would only take a fraction of an instant, a gender change at the speed of light.

Jesse’s skin, once a deep brown, turned white with just a hint of a tan. His small beer gut deflated instantly as it turned into a smooth and slightly toned mid-rift. His arms lost their muscle mass and size as they turned slender and delicate, Jesse’s hands shrinking from being able to palm a basketball to barely large enough to properly hold the sports equipment with struggling. The changes rippled outward as the sunlight continued to stretch across his changing body, all while the twenty-three year old remained oblivious. His hips swelled as the bones within flared out to child-birthing size, his large penis deflating like a balloon before shriveling up inside of him as a feminine slit took it’s place. His butt swelled in proportion to his hips, leaving the man with a impressive, but not embarrassingly so, new butt. The rest of Jesse’s body changed as the light of day continued it’s trek across him; his torso shrinking in size while breasts swelled from average manly pecs, pressing against the new fabric os the light sweater he now wore instead of a t-shirt. Jesse’s shoulders slimmed to match his new smaller arms, and his neck grew slender, his masculine lump sinking into his new flawless flesh. His face was the final thing to change, the rugged (if a little chubby) melting away as his face became heart shaped. His beard stubble vanished entirely, his lips plumped outwards and turned an alluring shade or pink, his ears dwindled and his eyes, piercingly blue behind their lids, turned a deep green. The former man’s short, black hair turned a light blonde as it pooled, curled and fell on his new face as SHE nestled deeper into the soft pillows.

The only evidence that Jesse even registered the extreme change was a brief wave of goosebumps as her skin’s sensitivity ratcheted upwards, promptly her new sexual organs to begin working, growing in dampness and heat as a tiny hand edged it’s way towards her groin. Jesse let out a sound partway between a snore and a grunt as her mind flooded with new hormones, and her mind, once filled with the thoughts of football, video games and sexy cheerleaders turned decidedly more…intimate as she subconsciously bit her lower lip.

And just like that, the changes were over, a large black man having been reduced to a small white woman. The entire change took only moments, but the former tall, slightly overweight black man had turned into a petite, skinny white girl. When Jesse would awake around an hour later, she would join the rest of the world in the chaos of the New Dawn.
