I've been wanting to try my hand at a classical repaint for a while - they're great practice and learning opportunities to look at the way traditional artists work with light and shape and color - and I've had my eye on Carlos Schwabe, Spleen et ideal 1907 as my subject for a while to do a Good Omens re-invisioning of it, since the piece is so reminiscent of the characters to begin with. (The siren character even looks like she's wearing sunglasses if you look close).
So I had a lot of fun wit this one. Did the initial sketch in pencil, scanned and started it (did the behind-the-figures background and blocked out the figures + rough shading in photoshop. Then I exported it to procreate to finish.
