I didn't know snake oil was an actual thing that people sold as that - I thought it was the archetypical fake product. Guess the name had to come from somewhere. Anybody know why 'snake oil' was something that would be attractive as a product ? I realise Fran is pointing out the error of today's campaigning hate leaders, but hasn't America always suffered from this problem ? Whether in a good or bad direction, campaigns and rabble-rousing has always been a thing. Division and conflict over compromise and tolerance. The idea of peace parades is bizarre. Protesting and fighting to achieve peace.
