Fran, we've been the bad guys for a very long time. What's happening is that as the empire, and capitalism, collapses the lost profits from the imperial periphery need to be extracted from the imperial core. Fascism is what happens when imperialism comes home. The only thing that's going to save us is a resurgence of working class movements. The only thing that has ever extracted concessions from the capitalist/ruling class has been workers banding together. The unions, socialists, communists, and anarchists. The phrase "workers of the world, unite!" exists for a reason.
