My mom worked for 40 years for Macys in kitchen wear's she retired and they closed that store..it always ,make me sad to see all the places i knew disappearing. I felt like i was a restaurant killer. I took it too personal but i'm saddened by the change..

I left NYC proper for Jersey City a long time ago when it was possible to find good deals there. Fortunately, I was able to buy the place I was renting before the neighborhood started to gentrify. Literally about six months before. It's still cheaper than NYC, but the gap is a lot smaller than it was.
I still have my JC place, but I've been taking care of an elderly parent in Providence for a while. Not a lot of places here seem to be closing, but there wasn't much here to begin with. It's also pretty expensive. Whee.
