The Sad Finite Life Of Film

A lot of confusion about nitrate film stock, but all film is temporary. We're at that point now where it is all going away.

Soldiers in WWII sent audio recordings home on small recorded flexi-discs made in recording booths at the major training centers [usually] prior to being deployed overseas. And, of course, flexi-discs were stapled into magazines for advertising/promotional purposes. I have a small collection of these stored in an unused 7" reel-to-reel take-up reel box. (Of course, magnetic tape is a whole other story...) A large number of veterans lost their military records in a fire in St Louis a number of decades ago. They were being archived on microfiche. Great video! I love when you wax nostalgic. 👍🏼
