Probably along with just about every other person in the world, I regularly encounter those who feel the need to say something to me, out of the blue. Stranger vs. stranger. I enjoy discourse, and I often strike up a conversation with someone I don't know while waiting in line, in a store, etc. I believe that we can learn something from everyone. However, when someone says something to me that is prima fascia wacky, rather than attempt to have a conversation about that, I simply say, "Oh, I didn't know that.", or something similar, and then just smile. Example: Them: You know, we're all only living inside a computer simulation. Me: I suppose that anything's possible. π Thanks, Fran, for continuing to put a pushpin in my days.
