Enclosures!!!

Time to go into the Vault and look for a new project case.

Enclosures!!! Enclosures!!!

The project cases I loved the most (for looks) were the Maplin Instrument Case NM2H, catalogue number YM51F. Black and beige, steel chassis, soft aluminium faceplate for easy drilling with handles on each side. Featured in the weather satellite project in this old issue of the electronics magazine which I built and still have... https://www.worldradiohistory.com/UK/Mapelin/Maplin-Electronics-1986-09-10-11.pdf

Richard Hawley

I sincerely hope to see a clock built into one or more of those cases someday.

I've got a stash of candy, mint, and cookie tins and some random plastic ones. The last one I used was to make a dummy load for my radio. Sticking the load resistors directly to the case with heat sink tape means the entire box is a heat sink.

John Verne

You can buy that wood-grain material as an adhesive-backed drawer liner. Then you could decorate any style enclosure with it. I hope that helps you, Fran.

Roman Charak

Loving the bin full of analog meter movements. I probably had about half the cubic yards of electronic junque as you, but not nearly as organized.
