Gold Balls In Your Brita???

They sure went through a lot to tell you when you change the filter! Let me get into it - literally. Enjoy!

Gold Balls In Your Brita??? Gold Balls In Your Brita???

There is something to be said about the brutal method of decommissioning. In high school we had old army portable radios that some of us were cannibalizing for parts. Some of the outside casing had to be brutalized to get it off. It was fun and enlightening.

That's one way to implement a step counter. XD

I don't use water filters now, but I presumed the "safe" life was not only determined by use, but also time for bacteria to grow etc.

Ah, and the newer model I have is clearly the same as yours, but counts the times the water is poured, instead of the opening of the lids.. Some statistical difference there!

Oliver Prosperi

The previous model used a metal plunger with two poles that reached into the water to close the circuit when the brita was filled up (dont't filter distilled water!). This one is so much overengeenered! I love it

Interesting but boy, that’s depressing. Gold and Lithium. All that engineering for something sooo trivial. Not sure planet earth stands a chance…

Here in the UK our kettles and jugs have I think monochrome LCD display, which simply counts down the month, then they flash, to tell you to change the filter. Nothing to do with how often the appliance is used. Which to me is mad. I have machine which dispenses one cup of hot water I use once a day and we also have a kettle with a filter used several times a day. At least your system makes some sense! Great video, hope your system comes over here soon!

is the chisel of discovery part of the same toolkit as the saw of de-encapsulation?

Great, careful disassembly. At least it doesn't disable the filter when its usage is up !

My guess is that chip is one of those ten-cent processors EEVblog reviewed.

McDLT reference ftw.
