The solenoid on a stock VW has a pull-in current of 32A (when it's engaging the starter gear) but a 12A hold current when it's just keeping gear in place and holding the switch closed.

2024-09-16 17:09:56 +0000 UTCWhen I was at polytechnic in 1985 the student accommodation had the Flash Gordon pinball machine and I racked up quite a high score on it. As a rule, I found my peak performance was during my third pint of Marston's Pedigree, for some reason it fell off after that... 🍺🙂
