I remember seeing Jerry on the second or third day, tie untied, sweaty, just obviously wrecked from staying up that long. I don't know how necessary a sacrifice it was, but he seemed heroic. Mostly tired, though.

2024-09-02 18:53:26 +0000 UTCExactly the same here in Belgium for me. Except we have no Labour day, school here starts on the 1st of September. Unlike you, after school, I have been an employee all my life. And the same feeling kept coming back, every 1st of September. Usually I had no vacation before that, but the feeling remained. This year, at 63, I am retired. This is the first time since I was 4 that the 1st of September does not bring tears in my eyes.
