Specific to the hand fatigue. I had an option to use the gloves at NYC makerfair in early 2000s. Yes, the layers introduce some resistance, but it was the vacuum that was the killer. They had them in a vacuum box and it showcased how much you had to *fight* the vacuum which is pulling the gloves to their "blown up" position.

Fran, I was a kid in 1979 but I still remember all the news coverage of the Skylab reentry. Remember all the media coverage? I think they hoped to use the Space Shuttle to push it into a higher orbit but the shuttle did not have its first flight until after the Skylab fell. I remember seeing some of the debris that fell on Australia at Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry. I remember large pressure tanks with some kind of frayed fiberglass outer shell that blew when the tank exploded.

Brilliant and informative 💯

Woah, I wanna see a sky of boiling mist upside down! That must have been so surreal. I liked the whale news! The diversity of communication between the species just on our planet is mind-blowing. It's interesting to try to imagine unique ways an alien race might communicate, but we're probably too constrained by the limitations of our tiny human space-time experience, to come up with anything close to how bizarre and inconceivable the reality of it would be.

Klingons are much more practical. The body is a shell, do with it what you will.

No bones about it, perhaps the original source of that chestnut ;)
