Where All My Slackers At????

Bob Dobbs would be twirling in his titanium sarcophagus if he know how  little people were slacking off today.  It's effecting my business!  So,  please... have a heart.  Slack off.  Enjoy!

Where All My Slackers At????

slacker hear. ok, I try do some viewing week days, like now. Keep up your good work anyway !

Mike

I'm guilty of waiting until weekends, so I can watch with my dad when he visits. Perhaps I should start clicking every video twice to account for two of us watching...

Chips

Patreon stopped sending me email notifications of your new video postings. If I don't happen to go to the Patreon link in my browser, I would not know your activity. I normally watch your videos the same day I'm aware of your posting. Not sure what changed.

Matt Wietlispach

I watched this on my phone at work to help you out. I’m in a different Timezone though. Not sure if your stats account for that

Doug McRae

at work, buttering your bread. You're welcome

Ritchie Williams

I don't know ANY youtuber that produced 3 to 4 new videos a week. How does Vertasium and other big sites only do 1-2 weeks between new content?

Ritchie Williams

Awe...Miss Blanche 😍.

I guess I'm an outlier 'cause I usually watch at least a few YT videos in the middle of the workday. I also have two parallel YouTube viewing habits - stuff I watch just for myself, which tends to be watched on my desktop computer and often during the workday or on weekends, and stuff I watch on my living room TV that my wife and I both enjoy. She's not interested in electronics-related content so I tend to save that stuff for myself.

Circuitmike

Well YouTube can suck eggs. Unfortunately I'm not gonna let the platform dictate when and how much information I ingest. I expect they want to maximise user engagement but they're going to burn out their audience and creators. Anything more than 1 video per week from a few people that interest me, is too much. I wonder if most of your audience are creative types, because creative people can't ingest content all night and still create. Personally I prefer to just chip in on Patreon because I like what you do, even if I don't have time to watch half your vids myself. Anyway it sounds really frustrating on your end. Keep on truckin I guess

All the comments from many creators about the algorithm prove the following: Most users dont use YouTube like i do... (ie i get recommended plenty day, week, month old videos, plenty of videos from creators that post once or twice a month ect.)

EzTerry

You are probably right. I tend to pile up your videos during the week and watch them over the weekend. Maybe it's a matter of the types of people who follow your channel, as you say, that don't have the time during the week. I noticed that a younger coworker has a much different use of youtube/tiktok. This person has the phone always on with short videos upall time. The job is perfectly done, so no attention issues, just another way to fill up the gaps or slack time.

Brings back the memories of "Where My Ladies At?" - stats analysis time again! :)

¡Too much is always better than not enough! Kent State Subgenius Local 666, circa 1992, reporting for duty. Mucho slacko, Fran. Cheers

I usually watch your videos shortly after you post, as long as I'm awake... 5 hours ahead of Philly time here in the UK. Hopefully people are catching up on your midweek vids at the weekend - they're missing out if not! 🙂

Motten

For once i saw it nearly on same day ,like other's i normally watch days later,Well still be here Fran,as others have said Thanks for your efforts.

Richard Vickers

USA/Canada first, then Europe second for views.

Fran Blanche

The analytics only pertain to public videos and traffic on the YouTube platform.

Fran Blanche

Nope.

Fran Blanche

We do care. Thanks for your efforts.

Kendra Akin

Hi Fran - first time commenting, so let me first just say thanks for doing what you do and keeping slackers like me entertained. I was curious if watching one of these patreon/unpublished videos on youtube counts any differently than watching it after it goes public? I wonder, if there are a lot of pre-public views on a video would it get more/less heavily pushed by the algorithm once it does go public? Not sure if you have any way of knowing that from the stats you have.

StenchAway

After 6pm your time, I'll be sleeping. I think you noted previously that not so many of your viewers are European, so maybe that's not a significant effect. I often view soon after you post, but that's erratic depending on my other commitments.

Bob Pockney

So watching the videos on Patreon don't help?
