Oh, Bless My Heart!

Just for all you Patrons.  Thanks...

Oh, Bless My Heart!

there was a time in history when NHS was better than the french healthcare. And by the way, french hospitals are on the same track now, because the "Chicago" cult of Milton Friedman and co. has had a lot of evil spawns in France, leading us on the verge of disaster.

Just watched this and it motivated me to (finally!) become a patron of yours. You were in my heart and mind earlier this week and perhaps now I know why. Thank you for all your amazing work — I guess I’ve now proven that I really do appreciate both it and you!

A $5000 deductable ?!? And I suppose that is for each time you see the ER... On the east side of the pond, we could not imagine how ridiculous healthcare in the US is... I pay CHF 350.- per month for my plan, incorporating a CHF 3000.- deductable per YEAR but that saves me CHF 100.- per month on premiums ... God bless you and get well soon!

I no longer get emails when you post a new video. What has changed?

The human body is such a mixed bag of potential disasters. I work fora multi-billion dollar company and even though I pay hundreds per paycheck for the most comprehensive plan, it still costs me thousands out of pocket if I even TOUCH anything medical-wise. There is a monopoly when it comes to ambulances here and I have no choice but to pay whatever they ask. Blue Cross just kicks it back to me saying "We only cover $750 for 10 minute ambulance drive. They want $1300 per ride." Guess who gets to eat THAT extra cost? (as if I had a choice) Yeah, I get slammed with bills Blue Cross won't completely cover even though I was "in network" for any treatments. The 80/20 promise they claimed I had was pure bullshit. You probably have better coverage than I do and I play the corporate game. As a so-called "first world" country, all US citizens are faced with bankruptcy even with so called "coverage". It's a real sore spot with me. If we were like Canada, I could retire tomorrow, but I have to stay trapped because of health coverage. All so I can see the latest Skyrizi, Jardians and other pharmaceutical ads on TV with everyone happy as hell to be afflicted with some skin problem, Crone's disease or diabetes when they take the $100/pill drug. Sorry to hijack your forum. I'm just glad you got coverage and hopefully they won't pull the same crap Blue Cross does. We need you healthy and I know about the aeromedical certificate. You take anything other than an aspirin and they pull your certificate. The Air Force required aeromedical certificates to work on aircraft during flight tests. I took advantage of the government bureaucracy knowing that if I told the doctor I didn't take any medications my temporary aeromedical certificate would be issued. I guessed right and got through all of the flight tests before the FAA sent me a letter saying I was ineligible for an aeromedical certificate. At that point, flight tests were over and it didn't matter any more. If you take a medication to help with sleep, you're outta there!

In my late 50’s I also developed the exact same pair. Beta blockers and warfarin ever since . I am now 80 and still pushing through. I do home finger-stick testing weekly. I have seemingly random periods of low energy, but mostly I am normal. I recently had a n ER visit for Covid and pneumonia. All of my vaccinations seem to have helped, as it was very mild. Hang in there, we are pulling for you.

Larry Taylor

I'm very glad that you will be OK. And to be able to do a very tiny, almost negligible, amount of help.

AWE..💞

Joacim Wennerberg

We are all your friends and we love you, Fran. So glad to know you got through the night and have the health care you need. I sincerely hope your health continues and you keep informing and entertaining us as much as you wish to. You're the greatest!

Brian Arbenz

Glad to hear your okay, sounds like you have been through the ringer, as we would say in he UK. Stay strong. All the best Fran

Stewart Webb

Sorry to hear you won't be able to fly. On a positive note, at least you're OK, and there is a medication plan going forward. During times like this, I'm very glad for the UK's much-maligned NHS, which is healthcare free at the point of use. Without becoming too political all the NHS problems are due to successive Conservative government interference and underfunding. I was on Beta blockers some years ago for hypertension. I don't recall any issues with them. Good luck and Godspeed going forward...

Dr Andy Hill

Yikes. Glad to hear that the drugs will be able to keep it under control. Take care.

EEVblog

Fred Patton

I'm sorry. You must have been terrified. I hope you had someone there with you. I'm glad about the insurance. Stay healthy.

C Genco

Oh God FRAN! I'm too much like you! Unfortunately I too have AFIB but, my life threatening events were different. Our chromosomes are the luck of the draw at birth. My heart goes out to you and your loved ones! We LOVE you! You go girl!

Ken Smithson

I'm so sorry that happened to you, Fran... can only imagine how terrifying that must have been. Really relieved to hear the beta blockers will keep things under control. Take good care of yourself, you're one of a kind and we care about you. Sending you hugs. x

Motten

I'm glad that you're mostly okay, Fran!

Scott Baxter

I feel you on that "never fly a plane again" thing! I had a private pilot's license years ago and I developed medical conditions that mean I can never get a medical certificate again, so I'm in that same situation. I'm sorry you are, too.

Circuitmike

Good heavens Fran. So glad you've come through. Your support network is here if you need us. I'm on beta blockers for life but not for such a serious condition. Take care Fran. x

Bob Pockney

I am so glad you're going to be ok, but saddened that you won't be able to fly again. I'd always hoped you could restart the lessons and take us with you.

David Peaker

Glad you're ok!!!

Nick Cordasci

Glad your ok ,My thoughts are with you ,also.

Richard Vickers

Eek! Stay safe Fran, no naughty creating stuff until you're fully physically and emotionally recharged. 👍

Zygmunt Dean

Oy oy - sort of glad it's a hardware issue and that there's a partial fix ('till civilization collapses' - oh your sense of humour in dark times!)

James R.C. Garry

Glad you’re okay, Fran. My thoughts are with you.

Ivan Dee
