Radio Broadcasting (1947)

Another 16mm reel from my collection - Although this film is from 1947  it might seem stylistically more at home in the 1930's.  As usual I  transferred this reel with my own Telecine.  Enjoy!

LOVE it! Fran, where are you finding these? Are they public domain? Thank you for archiving them forever!

Brilliant film In my book you can't beat radio drama, your imagination is much better than any CGI we are so lucky in the UK not to be at the behest of commercial sponsors at THE BBC

Just a couple of weeks ago, I did a Arbitron radio ratings survey. It lives on.

Reprocessed and re-uploaded...

I take full credit for the glorious color.

The guy with the dummies is Edgar Burgen, one of the biggest American stars of the early 20th Century, and father of Candice Bergen.

It's apparent from the film that the ventriloquist appearing is no ventriloquist ! The same thing in the UK with Archie Andrews and Peter Brough.

Bob Pockney

Cool film Fran, very much a "thing of its time". 🙂 BTW, amazing colour correction! 😁

That ventriloquist's skills were ideal for radio! And in the gameshow, while the husband gets the radio phonogram the wife gets the washing machine, nothing sexist there.

There seems to be over 11 minutes of black screen and silence after 18:42
