You are making so many assumptions about me and how I communicate and deal with others that are not true. You have misunderstood me and done much filling in with your thoughts here - But I understand what you are saying about yourself.

Do you really believe people don't want to be close to you because, "They cannot take the trauma of my life."??? How about realizing that we all have trauma, sometimes really bad long-term trauma and don't stick it into potential friends faces and assume their lives have been better if they don't pity us and give some special honor to our pain???? I got myself out of poverty, worked my ass off from age 11. Put myself through school and college, no grants, no loans, no family, no help from friends. And yes, the sharks are everywhere, and I've been bitten plenty. But, that's life. Everyone goes through it. Different circumstances, different traumas. Most try to present themselves as if they're doing fine and always have.

Wow! Much respect. I'm still optimistic enough to be disappointed and scared pretty often, not enough to be shocked that often. Your frankness invites self-reflection. I've had to unlearn some ways that I used to cope as my world has expanded, but others still work. And every strategy helps, at a cost. And I don't think my tool set is ideal. Just what I have to work with. I don't know jack about your situation, but I appreciate your sharing your insights and experience!
