I went to the IKEA website to get a look at the manual. It's clear that it would have benefited from some arrows to show the cycle is the button presses. 1. Press the cog wheel button for 2 seconds to activate the settings ⬇️ 2a. Press +/- to change between 12h and 24h clock. 2b. Press the cog wheel button to continue ⬇️ 3a. Press +/- to set hours. 3b. Press the cog wheel button to continue. ⬇️ ... ... and so on.

You're right, it looks much better without the dots. And be careful even mentioning Kraftwerk if you don't want to get a copyright strike!
