22-Year Old vs 56-Year Old

I fully agree with you Fran. I'm also 56 years old. I feel that the epicenter of the social sickness you are describing is in big cities. The medias are creating a social climate that makes everyone afraid / distrust / hate others. I base my assertion on these facts: I spent 50 years living in the vicinity of MontrΓ©al, Canada. I traveled for business almost every week for 15 years all around the United States. During the pandemic, I bought a house in the small village where I was born. The village of 2439 habitants has one grocery store, one restaurant, one bar with live music (!), one gas station, etc. Let me tell you that people here are different than in a large city. It's A LOT MORE social here, people actually talk to each others. They are not all polite, but people talk. I made good friends after a few visits to the local bar. At 56, I now have more friends than after 50 years in a big city. You have shared the reasons why you must stay in a large city, I fully understand your point and why your are "stuck" in a large city. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience, Sylvain Trudel

"Boomer" frequently just means "person who's older than me and who's on a better financial footing".

Sadly, find myself agreeing with you! I'm older than you by a bit, but like your overall perspective on MANY things. Also, share many common interests (ham radio, electronics, photography, kit building (EICO, from NY!))...

I'm about three years older than you Fran and live in the UK. I agree with everything you say in this video.

Yeah at 67 I'm starting to wonder if they shouldn't bring back civics in schools and then I start wondering if what resulted now wasn't why it was gotten rid of. πŸ€”
