Conquest Of The Skies (1978)

Another 16mm film from my archive - this reel has some unusual  deterioration in the form of some solarization and other effects, and  needed much correction.  In this film we get to see the very new Air and  Space museum in Washington, with testimonials and lots of tinted  archival footage.  As always I transferred this film with my own  Telecine.  Enjoy!

Conquest Of The Skies (1978)

What a gem! For me the star of the show was Paul Garber's account of getting to the airfield and seeing some of those first Wright brothers' flights. A lovely recollection that very much brought it to life for me. The historical accuracy of showing the contributions made by the Rong (sic) brothers was appreciated - their importance is often underated :) . The audio cuts at the start are frustrating, but they are mainly in the first few minutes. For me this was a definite case of 'content is king', and the majority of the video was very watchable. Snapshots of bygone era's. Thanks Fran!

Music copyright is valid 70 years AFTER the death of the composer. Which is insane, but it serves big business. Also, you don't have to actually own copyright to claim copyright, which sets off a huge financial shitstorm. And as I understand the problem, YouTube has no interest in getting involved in litigation and will just demonitize any video hit by a claim, and worse, there is software available that does nothing but phish video sites coming up with potential targets. So folks like Fran who need the income from the video have to really watch their backs. Even if she knows she's right and is exercising "fair use" (that's a laughable term anymore) it costs money to argue the case and in the end, what have you got? Big expenses, small gains. It's a rigged system. So up your pledge if you can, watch all her content, try to help her with the stupid algorithms.

Ah Clem
