Wonders Inside A NASA Apollo Era Digital Display!

This has been in the queue for a long time but it was worth the wait!   Such an amazing piece of space history - from the support equipment that  was used to build the Apollo Command Modules at North American Aviation  in Downey, California back in the mid 1960's.  Enjoy!

Are you sure that the indicator lamps aren't neon? That could explain all the pins. See the article starting on page 151 here; note that TEC-LITE helped with this article. https://worldradiohistory.com/Archive-Tele-Tech/60s/Electronic-Industries-1963-01.pdf

In 1974 Apollo was over, 7400 series TTL DIP IC's were king. Another era altogether.

No need to pull the indicators apart; the patent (US3041499A) shows the internals - it is a low voltage neon indicator with integrated boost circuitry. Very cool. I think the transistors on the 2035 modules are 2N422/2N425 Germanium PNP with date codes from '74. The pinouts match. I think the module is a 3-input NAND gate. It is a very cool device regardless if it is from the mid-60's or mid-70's.
