FranLab 2022 Year In Review

You can light the tip of that tube on fire and have pilot light for your flame thrower, too, at least until the tube melts completely away! Ahh, the things I learned as a middle-school boy...

Thanks for the recap. I think popularity of videos on YouTube are a mix of Familiarity and Novelty in the Title and Thumbnail image. The majority of “influencer/guru” channels raking in tens of thousands have this down to a fine art, e.g. “You won’t believe what’s really happening in a C64!” With an image of a C64 glowing from within, will intrigue more people not familiar with your channel to click. I don’t think your regular viewers will mind such blatant trickery, but I think it’s worth experimenting though.

Love the recap! It really reminded me of all the effort you put in to keep your subscribers happy. I'm confused at the Patreon, then suddenly not Patreon subscribers as well. I'm looking forward to Fran 2023 as well! Thank you for all you do.

Thank you for your wonderful work. I listed stuff I wanted to see again... but then edited because I thought about it - honestly when you do what you love I love your posts. Please care for you first.

The best thing about WD, formula#40 is attaching the plastic tube to the nozzle, then lighting the spray with a BIC lighter for an across the room flame thrower, obligatory lol... and thank you Fran for another eventful year... and for many more to come, everyone!

This summary of all your excellent work in 2022 prompted me to up my patreon support. You are so amazing and authentic, Fran; that, although I can understand why followers may not be able to support you financially, I cannot understand why people who first subscribe would then unsubscribe. Ideas anyone?

Thank you for continuing to entertain and teach us stuff ! I "discovered" you following a comment I say in Mastodon about two years ago. The first video I watch was about the WD-40 ! Why ? - The 'funny composition' of the thumbnail - Curiosity about a product that I know I'm no expert but I think the popularity spike you see on some videos is influenced by what the larger YouTube community (non-subscribers) can relate to. Like you said about the fish tank failure, the thumbnail is bringing a lot of traffic. Again THANK YOU for your hard work. Have a wonderful new year 2023 ! :-Sylvain
