What is it?  What does it do?  I have no idea - lets open it up and see.

I was expecting the same. Very common in audio applications where you want the amplifiers to power up last to avoid pops.

My initial thought was that this would delay switching ON the power. Other equipment connected to the same supply could fully power up before this timed equipment would, for some purpose.

I've installed similar but slightly different SS timers on HVAC systems to control compressor restarts if power supply is iffy (intermittent)... and longer timeout durations of up to five minutes or so to ensure supply was steady on before another attempted restart. I assume you could use a decade resistor box with leads you could play with, swapping out that one? (or potentiometer)

Hmmmm. Well at least they found a single hybrid module that does all the work. I would have stripped the module out of the box and tossed the box and cords. The timer module could easily be used elsewhere. As-is? 9 Seconds? Not sure what/why. The adjustable timer feature might come in handy some day. And I didn't see a current rating. Did I miss that? It doesn't look like a module that could switch 15 amps.
