The one that I find fascinating is a "drone" described by Ron Goulet in his book "The Hellhound Project" in 1985. DNA testing was still very cutting edge at the time, but he posited the production of a "Hellhound". A fully autonomous machine that would wander the world searching for a victim by their DNA signature. Have a "bad actor"? Get the court to issue a death penalty and turn the beast loose! Good as a way to eliminate your enemy, WONDERFUL as a terror weapon to keep the sheep in line!
