From The Vault: Precision Apparatus Model 954 Tube Tester

In the late 50s as a kid I would drive my folks crazy pulling tubes and taking them to the Rexall up the street just to use their tester. As someone stated above, the tester was on a stand with a supply of tubes below. I recall finding one or two bad tubes and replacing them. I'm working on a pre-war Zenith floor model now and I guess I'm gonna have to figure out how to meter the pins.

Ah Clem

This is gold. Eightish-years-old me would go to the creaky plank floored Frentz and Sons Hardware Store in Royal Oak, Michigan with my Dad just to play with the tube tester. I was easily fascinated by meters and all those sockets, bulbs and gauges. Most of us love those vids which spur fond personal memories. Thanks Fran.
