As someone who's seriously considering starting a YouTube channel, thank you for making this. I think I'm on the right track - I'm not looking to make money, although any money made would be a nice plus. I'm looking to build the kind of cool shit I'd like to build anyway, talk about the things I find interesting, and share it with like-minded people. I have a day job that pays reasonably well and gives me all those day-job perks like health, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, etc. If I spend 10 years making videos and I build an audience of people who like what I do, that's good enough for me.
