Building Kennedy Space Center: Launch Complex 39A (1964)

Every frame of this 16mm film is historic!  You really want to know where some of those Billions spent on Apollo went?  Well here it is!  A seldom seen look at the Kennedy Space Center under construction, with the gargantuan machines, 7 foot thick roads, hundreds of specialized buildings and mammoth Thunderbirds constructions that became the world's  first fully functional Space Port.  Brought to you by NASA in stunning Technicolor!  Enjoy!

If you want to dive into the depths of the details, here's a fun read. https://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/pao/History/SP-4204/contents.html

1964, the year I was born! Johnson greeting Gus Grissom and John Young who flew the first Gemini mission the following year, fantastic!

Wow I was 5 years old when this was made. We didn't get a color tv until '68. But they still looked good in B&W. Thanks Fran, it brings a smile to my face to relive childhood memories from time to time.
