Did the new wiki make it to the Wayback Machine before the termites got it?

Hey Fran, I don’t have a job , I can’t afford the $1 pledge, but I have been for a few months now so I feel good for supporting creators. This is my last post as a subscriber, hopefully things will get better. ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿 Jamison, p.s. I now have a collection of fountain pens because of you I absolutely love them. Thank you!!

It’s not just inevitable. Some wise person once said “tell me the rewards and I’ll tell you the outcome.” This is the Fundamental Theorem off Sales Organizations. Apparently Mr. Wikipedia did not understand that the structure he created had an endgame of Mutually Assured Destruction with N players. The “Mexican Standoff” as brilliantly illustrated in one of the Clint Eastwood movies is an example. Painfully, we did all these “distributed governance” experiments. at scale, in the USENET universe a decade or so before the Internet Inferno of Reinventing Bad Ideas got stoked by people exercising their divine right to try Something Kuul! Only this time they had VC money so the craters were much bigger. Wikipedia managed to last longer before following the geodesic to the inevitable state of multiple strange attractors (aka editorial warlords with apparently little else to do but piss, er, pass judgement on whose footprints on the eternal sidewalk are vaporized in a blast of flame). Andy Warhol said “In the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes.” He was right except the Internet changed the unit to milliseconds.

Wikipedia has long devolved from a useful repository of crowdsourced knowledge to a playground for folks who really like to be the biggest fish in a small pond. It is unfortunate, but that happens whenever a community rewards folks who game the system for power, and was probably inevitable.

The page now redirects to the Frantone page but the entire history is still there. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fran_Blanche&action=history

I've edited a few Wikipedia articles here and there. My experience with Important Editors is that they tend to be unhelpful martinets. In this case, the 'Fran the person' page was redirected back to the 'Frantone the company' page because the editor felt that the 'person' page did not sufficiently meet Wikipedia's notability requirement. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability Unfortunately, years of being under the radar have left Fran with only a few independent references. The 'She Shreds' article is one, but there's just not a lot of reference material that didn't come from Fran herself. Including that would fall under Wikipedia's 'Not a brochure' guideline. It is notable that Dave Jones' page is still up on Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_L._Jones_(video_blogger) I myself don't see a whole lot of difference between that and the one about Fran. If we were to try again, I think we'll need to go find paper/printed material that demonstrates that Fran meets the Wikipedia guidelines on notability.

...which is why I will NEVER "donate" to the wiki foundation. The lack of editorial control is inexcusable.

Wikipedia's editing is controlled by a mob of men who regularly delete anything about women and will lovingly curate thousands of pages about anime characters with breasts that would debilate anyone in real-life. Whenever I talk to anyone at the Wikimedia Foundation about doing something about the misogyny, I'm told "we can't antagonize the volunteers."

Emma Humphries

Seconded, enthusiastically: Use the Talk page! If there is no response within a couple weeks, doing a very minor "test edit" will raise the ire of one of the page editors, who will then likely take a look at the Talk page.

Please don't direct fans to work on wikipedia, it'll just lead to headaches. They're super stingy about persons trying to edit pages about themselves, or trying to influence the entry in other ways. They've got fairly good reasons for it too, as well as lots of bad experiences from what happens when subjects manage to directly or indirectly influence the content of their entries. Even for a super simple correction, it's probably best to point it out on the Talk page instead.

Well, it is the age of Cancel Culture /s

Well, that lasted a long time! Seems that the Fran Blanche page is no more. Oh, those Wiki gatekeepers!

Fran Blanche

The "design writings" link doesn't work. You need to take off the ")" at the end. Looking at frantone.com again is a treat. I just noticed the "ALL SOLID STATE" label on the Cream Puff and noted that it has a pink LED! Frantasic artistic touches both.

Any questions just ask. I appreciate all the help!

Fran Blanche

Everything I put on the internet is available to be used on the page, including screen shots from any of my videos.

Fran Blanche

I will do what I can, but I worry about my accuracy, other may need to point out my errors which I will be happy to correct
